St David’s Day 1st March
In Wales, we celebrate St David’s Day every year on 1st March
In primary schools, the children go to school in national dress. The girls wear a welsh costume which comprises of a skirt or trousers, apron, shawl and welsh hat. the boys wear Welsh rugby shirts. Usually, others wear leek or daffodil pin badges. They usually celebrate St David’s Day by attending an eisteddfod in school. They sing songs and read poems etc.

The national flower of Wales is a daffodil which I love, it shows the spring is coming.
Welsh cakes are very popular in Wales. I suppose it tastes between a scone and a pancake. It is also called a bakestone because traditionally it is baked on one. They have been popular since the late 19th century and the main ingredients are fat, sugar, flour, and sultanas and can be baked on a griddle or bakestone. The ingredients are traditional with fruit in but you could make them plain and fill with jam or add anything to the mix. I love white chocolate and raspberry ones.
