Revitalization: collective action for the ocean
The ocean covers over 70% of the planet. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on earth.
The ocean produces at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen, it is home to most of Earth’s biodiversity and is the main source of protein for more than a billion people around the world. Not to mention, the ocean is key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.
Even with all its benefits, the ocean is now in need of support.
With 90% of big fish populations depleted, and 50% of coral reefs destroyed, we are taking more from the ocean than can be replenished. We need to work together to create a new balance with the ocean that no longer depletes its bounty but instead restores its vibrancy and brings it new life. QUOTE BY UNITED NATIONS FOR OCEANS DAY

I love the sea, the smell, and the calmness, and I like walking on the beach. I find it relaxing sitting on the beach and looking out to sea. Why do the seas in the UK look grey and other oceans look blue?
I have made a few cakes with the sea theme for different occasions. When I get the free reign to design a cake it’s nice. I get to think about what the person wants and then get down to it. For this particular cake, the bottom one the lady asked for a sea theme with fish, starfish, shells, and a diver so I thought about ideas. It took a while to make all the decorations but when it all came together it was worth it. I loved it and so did she. It is well worth it when the customer is satisfied. I used both modeling and fondant icing for all the models.
I had a free reign for the crab cake as well. The sand was brown sugar, and all the other decorations were made from fondant icing. I enjoyed doing that one as well. The customer thought it was brilliant
