New cake ideas from confectionery and Training

The world is changing and so must I to keep up to date with new cake ideas at confectionery and training. Cupcakes are still in as are different flavours. Chocolate drip cakes are still popular with lots of chocolate on as well as prosecco and Gin. See below.

I have made a number of drip cakes, 4 layers mostly but I have made 5. You can put them on silver and gold boards but now coloured boards are very popular as well as white ones. You can buy them from a number of suppliers. I have a great supplier near me it is called Kate’s Cupboard. A great shop selling kitchen and cake supplies have a look at the website below

New cake ideas from confectionery and training include cupcake boards. You decorate a cake board with an inscription etc. and decorate with the finished cupcakes, popular and sometimes more special than a box of cupcakes. The one below was a buttercream flower one, but I have made other ones.

Other new cake ideas from confectionery and training include slab cakes with a buttercream design. Cheaper than a large birthday cake but enough to feed the family. They can be decorated with chocolates and sprinkles. This one was plain as the customer wanted to add her own decorations.

Fondant cakes are still very popular. I find sometimes people want two or three-tier cakes for birthdays not just for weddings. This is great as each tier can be made differently. A different flavour sponge and buttercream for each tier, pleasing everyone in the family and at the party.  I had the privilege once of making a three-tier cake for a 100-year-old woman. It was lilac with flowers on, so pretty, such a milestone birthday.  I also made my first funeral cake a few months ago for a chief commissioner. I felt honored to be asked to make it. Both these cakes tell a story as the other ones I have made in the past.
